For the 10th year in a row the killers have release their
annual Charity Christmas song.
In previous years the tradition has seen frontman,
Brandon flowers, trade cool leather jackets for more comforting numbers like
velvet dinner jackets and even pink bunny onesies. We have also seen the
killers team up with some budding musicians like Elton John and Dawes.
This year completes a trilogy of songs; formed of Don't
Shoot Me Santa, I Feel it in My Bones and now Dirt Sledding, where a
grudge-holding Santa is after the Vegas alt-rockers. (For some unknown reason)
The killers over time have remained true to their
alt-synth rock sound. But this year they have experimented with a rockabilly
beat and surprisingly sounds more like buddy holly or Elvis rather than, well,
the killers.
Although not a classic like 'Fairytale of New York', it's
certainly worth a listen (available below). There is also a playlist available
of some of their previous Xmas singles.
